ABOUT COACH HANKE

Coach Hanke has been involved with hockey for the last 33 years both as a player and as a coach. Hanke is a native of Antigo WI, where he grew up playing hockey, graduating in 2001.  Hockey would then take him to St. John's University in Collegeville MN, where he played for John Harrington, member of the 1980, "Miracle on Ice" USA Gold medal hockey team.  Here he was a part of 3 conference championships, 2 NCAA tournaments, all while earning "6th Man Award" and "Unsung Hero" awards.

Following his playing career, Coach Hanke started his coaching career at the youth levels in Marshfield, WI.  He has since spent 2 years as the Head Coach for Marshfield High School, 1 year as an assistant for the La Crosse High School Co-op and then 7 years as an Assistant at D.C. Everest High School.  Throughout the years, Coach Hanke has also individually coached players and worked numerous summer hockey camps.  

Coach Hanke currently resides in Marshfield, WI with his wife Lea and their 3 daughters. Both are currently teachers for the Marshfield School District.  When not teaching, coaching or spending time with his family, Mike loves to golf, run, and play racquetball.
